Hey, Will White here with Nexus Pest Solutions, bringing you another edition of questions were asking her out in the field. And today’s question is, how do I get peace of mind after a bedbug treatment? Well, I got to start off by saying that that is a very, very, very good question. And if you’ve had bedbugs for a short amount of time or extended period of time, it can be a very traumatic experience. But what I want to do today is give you three tips that you can use one you can use all three or you can use one of them that can help you kind of progress after after you’ve had a properly performed bedbug treatment. Number one is Mattress Encasements.
Now, this is something that should be applied after you know the bedbug treatment. So after the place has been treated, you want to get encasements on all the mattresses. Now this is something that should be form fitting now I’ve seen these mass produced ones that are way too big for the mattress and boxspring. They give the bed bugs when they’re too big, they give the bed bugs a place to high you want your Mattress Encasement to be very form fitting on the mattress and the boxspring. So that way, if there are bedbugs, or you reintroduce bedbugs. The only place they can hide on the mattress and boxspring is in a zipper.
Mattress Encasements are also white. So the fecal matter from the bedbug shows up so when you’re stripping your bed down, you know to wash the sheets and the blankets. You can easily inspect that mattress and boxspring to see if any new activity has been reintroduced. Now personally, I prefer the active guard. You know the active guard is a great product because if you bring in a few bedbugs, it’ll kill bedbugs for the active guard. Covers will kill bedbugs for up to two years. It won’t solve a bedbug problem. But if you were to reintroduce a few bedbugs to your home, it’ll kill them.
Number two, we have bedbug monitors, the bedbug monitors, the chemistry has come a long ways they’ve been able to kind of simulate a human being being in the room 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, but the monitor, it gives you about 90 days attraction. So you know, once the job is done, you can install these monitors up underneath the bed. And you can check them as you change it out everything on the bed, just pick them up once a week look up underneath them to have a clear bottom. And if you have bedbugs, they’ll be inside of that monitor. But remember, the firm owner needs to be changed out every 90 days.
Number three, have the pest control company come back out and do an inspection. You know, go back through the rooms you know flip over to furniture you know these are things you can do yourself. But if you just don’t feel comfortable, like I said, this is about you having your peace of mind after a treatment is done. You know you can have the company come back out and do an inspection, you know of your home those areas of concern that you might have. Now, like I said, as we started you can do one, two, or all three, whatever it’s going to take to help you move forward after you know such a traumatic experience. But you know if you have any questions on any of the three, feel free to always give our office a call. And as usual, you can ask for me I’m Will White. I’ll be more than happy to assist you. I hope you have a pest free day
